Miracle Plant Chamomile

NABAN Wunderpflanze Kamille
Is Grandma's chamomile tea "in" or "out"? Probably "out". But influencers should dare to post chamomile tea in addition to coffee, because moisturizing chamomile is a true beauty miracle weapon. The fact is that chamomile is bursting with healthy ingredients and is even considered a medicinal substance.

Chamomile contains many antioxidants (e.g. flavonoids) that trap radicals and thus protect the skin from damage and premature aging. In addition, there are anti-inflammatory and antibacterial substances (e.g. chamazulene or bisabolol), which reduce inflammation and thus contribute to clearer, calmer skin. Chamomile not only cares for the skin, but also affects our psyche; the substance apigenin contained in chamomile calms and reduces anxiety. If you experience a lot of stress at work, it is therefore advisable to drink chamomile tea.

In natural medicine, the effects of chamomile have long been known. It is used for skin regeneration in burns and for wound healing, as it has anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, soothing and skin-strengthening properties. It can be found in tinctures, essential oils, creams, gels and ointments. It is native to Europe and Western Asia, where it has been used for thousands of years, and today it also grows in North and South America and Australia. The main growing areas are Egypt, Argentina and some European countries.

Probably the most interesting ingredient in chamomile is the active ingredient bisabolol, which is used in care products and, depending on the breeding form and growing area, accounts for a good half of the essential chamomile oil.

Bisabolol can neutralize toxins released by bacteria that irritate the skin. This reduces inflammation. In addition to this effect, the miracle substance also has an antispasmodic and pain-relieving function. This makes it a common ingredient in ointments and balms. In addition, it influences cell metabolism through special messengers and stimulates skin renewal. This reduces skin aging and skin irritations can heal faster. It protects the skin from everyday environmental stressors and is ideal in cosmetics for the care of sensitive, irritated and inflammation-prone skin.

Chamomile is also used in perfumery. As a top note, the essential oil gives fragrances a watery, fresh nuance. The scent goes in the direction of green tea with subtle medicinal and herbaceous facets.
